I find my personal definition of beauty in living moments rather than studio poses, usually with the subject free and at liberty. This preference continues to hone my ability to see, position, maintain the speed plus flexibility to put "TIME IN A BOTTLE".
I am the primary photographer and do the majority of editing and all artistic rendering.
However, Strother Photography is a husband & wife team. This allows us the ability to often capture two totally unique views at the same time. My first camera was a honeymoon gift from my husband of now many years. We have since been photographing all over the world; often combining holidays, birthday, and anniversaries into an on location photo workshop.
Spending 3 weeks in the African bush with Frans Lanting of National Geographic fame made me appreciate the subtle but important differences in appearance and persona displayed by animals in their element. I must include Javan, world renown Arabian Horse Photographer for being so kind to offer his insights thru a once in a lifetime photography workshop. Thanks also to Sheila Varian and Los Acres for being some of my greatest supporters! And to Jim Miotke, president of Better Photo thru his Triple D Wildlife shoot, his mentoring and friendship offered me an unsurpassed opportunity for photographing wild life in their natural habitat.
This progression lead me full circle back to the wild life photography that I pursued before entering the wonderful world of horses and the people who love them. Primarily self taught, I describe myself as not only "outside the box", but perhaps as "having left the building"!
I remain grateful to have my images in books, calendars, articles, advertising, websites, on magazine covers, numerous awards as as well as hanging in private & public collections and fine art galleries. My continued gratitude for the support of those who share my passion for nature...Zita
